Recent Spam and Forum "Outage"

This site has been running quite some time without incident, and just recently, spammers have been gaining access to the site.

It seems reCAPTCHA isn't enough to stop automated troublemakers as there are a lot of new ways to get real humans to solve the puzzles.

In response, I've added a verification question to the registration form.

Of course, when doing some site maintenance, I accidentally deleted the settings file for the forum, so it was "down" until I uploaded a new settings file.
